What does mean "If ever I heard one

Hello, I'm not sure about meaning of this sentence: "Now there's a challenge if ever I heard one." Does it mean something like: "I can tell it was a challenge."? Thank you very much

It means that it most certainly was a challenge.

Also 'I can recognise a challenge when I hear one'.

EDIT: Your interpretation, Adelaine, now that I read it again, is just about spot on.
