    Default Possessive Form of Nouns

When do we use the possessive form in the following cases? Is there a rule?

    - Gooseweb
    - Gooseliver
    - Oxtail
    - Pigtail / Pig's Tail
    - Bird's Nest
    - Shark's Fin

    etc, etc

Default Re: Possessive Form of Nouns

I know of no rule- it might have something to do with ease of pronunciation- ox's tail would be hard.
