    Unhappy kin-keeping role?

    1. Sisters ofen assume a caretaking and keen-keeping role, especially after the death of their mother.

here what does it mean by keen-keepin role? Also, can you paraphrase this sentnece for me?

    2. They ( the older people) rarely offer each other instrumental support.
what does it mean by instrumental support?

finally, what does the following sentence mean?
A sibling can help retrieve a memory and validate our experience and the sibling seems to evoke positive feelings based on the images or feeling inside.

looking forward to seeing your answer.

Do you mean kin-keeping? Old term for family is kinfolk, next of kin. Daughters generally step into the maternal role of taking care of family.

Older people do not very often support each other especially when one or all are reaching the point of needing physical and emotional support.

You siblings will trigger memories of mutual experiences.
