Exclamation Usage of had had in this particular sentence

    In the below sentence
I ................. so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely ........... any work .

I feel multiple options fills the above, like,
I had had so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely have done any work.
I have had so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely had done any work.
I had had so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely had done any work.
I had had so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely did any work.

But, if the answer has to be unique, which is the best one to choose.

    Welcome to the forums, miracles.

I'm afraid your sentences are all wrong.

The past perfect (had had) is not suitable for that sentence.

If it's still morning, you need the present perfect (have had), but #2 (if you had numbered them) should continue like this:

'I have had so many interruptions this morning that I have done scarcely any work'.

If it's no longer morning, you need the simple past:

'I had so many interruptions this morning that I scarcely did any work'.

Now try this: type had had in the Google Custom Search box at the top of the page and you'll find links to earlier threads on the correct use of the past perfect.

    Thankyou Rover, That was warm.
It may not be in morning and its some later part of the day, can we use past perfect and say
" I had had so many interruptions this morning, that I scarcely had done any work"?
I came across a sentence such as,
"I had had a bad day already, and I arrived home to find that it had been robbed!"

So, is it like we should use the same tense in both parts of the sentence??
