    backup

    backup
Is it AmE when used as a 'reserve'? E.g. a backup pilot [(sports) player].
Is it also used as a noun?
    Thank you.

    Re: backup

Not "reserve". But "backup", yes. It can function as a noun. It's called a substantive noun. ;-0
