    It's not so much the amount that matters, but rather learning how to use them.

    Besides, the amount varies with each person and the resources they have access to.

    Keep reading, listening, writing, and speaking. You had better learn them through practical English. As we know that words are dead unless we use them in our daily lives. In short, donít memorize or count them. In other words, it doesn't matter how many words, phrases, idioms and the list goes on and on you know but how you make use of them since context comes first. Hope that helps and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
