Eat more fruit,vegetables and salads.

Fruit is both a countable/uncountable noun. Is it natural to say,"Eat more fruits, vegetables and salads"? It seems that many people use "fruit" instead of "fruits".

Thanks for your help.

"Fruit" is the accepted collective term for different kinds of fruit/fruits. However, the same does not go for "vegetable" - that is always pluralised in this kind of construction.

What do you sell in your shop?
We sell fruit and vegetables.

Thanks emsr2d2.

Do you mean "Eat more fruits" is not natural?

If Tom ate two apples,a banana and some grapes for lunch this afternoon.
Tom's friend: What did you eat this afternoon?
Tom: I ate fruits.

Is it natural for Tom to say, "I ate fruits" instead of "I ate fruit"?
