Default my type vs my ideal type

Koreans usually say "She is my ideal type" in Korean for the best woman you have imagined, but don't you ever say that, except for "my type"?

W: Tell me how you met Julie.
M: Well, I got off at the bus stop.
W: And she was there waiting for the bus, right?
M: Exactly. At first sight, I knew she was my type.
W: Well, that sort of thing can happen to anybody. So what did you do?
M: The bus came and she got on the bus, and so did I.
    W: Thatís interesting

No need to add "ideal" here.

You could if you really wanted to, but as SoothingDave says, it's not necessary.
