    subclass

    when it says pick out from the following list those words that belong to a closed class or subclass: you, ewe, lick, tick, in, inn, to, too, up, pup, ban, can, have, halve, fat, who, do, wheel, will, this, miss, either, neither

    what do they mean by subclass?

    Nothing important, I think-- the questioner is just being inclusive. Demonstratives are a subclass of adjectives, but that is not critical for this question.
