    Default a house payment

What is this "a house payment "? A mortgage loan or any kind of debt for purchasing a house?

Some of them may surprise you. My daughter once heard my husband and I arguing about overspending. He casually made a comment about having a house payment to make. My daughter overheard and interpreted his comment to mean that we were going to lose our home. We did not know why her stomach started hurting until she finally said it suddenly one day. We were so shocked, but in retrospect, could

The fact that he casually made the comment and that the piece goes on to show that the daughter misunderstood the importance, strongly suggests that he was simply referring to the fact that it was time to make the monthly payment on his mortgage.

With a mortgage you do own the home, but the bank has a lien on it.

True legally, I'm sure. However, to my mind, I do not own my home outright until I have paid off my mortgage. Until then, my mortgage provider holds the deeds to my house. Quite frequently, when people ask me if I own my own home, I say "No, sadly the bank does!"
