    Default A ton of

    - In these two sentences Total Recall 2012 is a new movie:

    A. Total Recall 2012 has magnificent special effects. I guess a ton of money was invested in it.
    B. Total Recall 2012 has splendid special effects. I guess it was invested plenty of money.

    - Could I use these sentences in spoken English? Please correct if I am wrong.

    Thank you so much

    A. Yes. A "ton of money" is unspecific and perhaps a little informal but it's OK.
    B. No. We don't say "it was invested plenty of money". "Plenty of money was invested in it" would have been fine, the same construction you used in A. It's a slightly uncommon usage of "plenty" but you will hear it used this way.
