    as confused as ever.

    1. Does this "as confused as ever" mean "you've been always confused all the time", not "you're most confused than ever"?
    2. Does this "As smart and dedicated as you may be" mean "however smart and dedicated you may be", a concessive clause?

mo1-36)You may think you found the ultimate answer to career choices or maybe youíre as confused as ever. Regardless of the side youíre on, the best advice for navigating these important life choices is this:Take a flexible attitude toward career choices. As smart and dedicated as you may be, you just canít predict the future. Some of the most successful professionals in any imaginable field could never ever have predicted what they actually do today. Why? Because when they were in high school, those jobs didnít even exist. .

    Re: as confused as ever.

    Your questions:
    1. Does this "as confused as ever" mean "you've been always confused all the time", not "you're most confused than ever"?

No, it means you are as confused as the most confused time for you in the past, hence, at a height of confusion.

    2. Does this "As smart and dedicated as you may be" mean "however smart and dedicated you may be", a concessive clause?

Basically, yes. Really he could also say regardless of how smart and dedicated you may be....

    Sincerely,
    -Les

    Re: as confused as ever.

I would say that the "as confused as ever" here specifically refers to the most confused the person has been about their career choices. They may have been more confused about other subjects at some point in their life, but as far as their career choice is concerned, they are as confused as they have ever been so far about that topic.
