    Re: which one is correct?

    Welcome, Kovacs Alexa.

Choices a., c., d., and e. don't work. They are all verbs. The sentence already has a verb. It's "can hear". There can be only one main verb per sentence.

    I can hear......in the woods

    a. shoots <3rd person singular, present tense verb>
    b. shooting
    c. is shooting <3rd person singular, present continuous verb>
    d. shoot <1st and 2nd person singular/plural, present tense verb>
    e. shot <past tense verb>

Note, "shooting" is not a verb. It's a present participle.
