İ want to ask a question about a gerund-infinitive.

i have been trying to understand the subject for 2 days.
Can you tell the difference between?

How do I know if a word is Gerund or Infinitive?

Right. Here they are:

infinitive
noun
the basic form of a verb, without an inflection binding it to a particular subject or tense (normally occurring in English with the word to, as in to see, to ask).

gerund
nounGrammar - a verb form which functions as a noun, in English ending in -ing (e.g. asking in do you mind my asking you?).
