    casting call

Does this "call" in "casting call" mean "notice" by phone-call or any other method?

ex13)Dreamhigh Film Company is holding an open casting call to the public for a role in their upcoming movie, Real Steel. You can attend an audition on February 14 in Chicago or on February 20 in New York City. The role is for a boy between 10 and 14 years of age. You will have to look somewhat like your movie dad ─ Hugh Jackman. Donít worry if you canít make it to the big cities for the casting call. You can also submit a video audition
at the website RealSteelCasting.com! Thatís the latest casting call from us here at Clevver TV. Good luck!
