    Is this sentence correct?

    Is this sentence correct?
    "The astronauts took six spacewalks to fix the optics of the telescope"
    I think spacewalks should be changed into spacewalkers. right
    Moreover, if we change spacewalks into spacewalkers, will the sentence become correct both in meaning and grammar?
    This sentence is really strange for me. I can't understand it at all. Please help
