[Grammar] "more efficacious"

Hi everyone,

Is the below sentence correct?

"It is found to be more efficacious when compared to xxxxxxx".

We don't use the word "efficacious" very often. Whether or not the sentence makes sense would really depend on context. What will replace the "xxxxxxxx" part?
