What does " I'm gonna getcha good" actually mean?

Oh, I'm gonna getcha, I'm gonna getcha real good
Yeah, you can betcha, oh, I'm gonna getcha
(I'm gonna getcha) just like I should, I'll getcha good
    Oh, I'm gonna getcha good!

From the song "I'm gonna getcha good" by SHANIA TWAIN

I ask few people. Some said it means " I know you well." Some said " I'll get you back" and some said I'll hurt you.

I'm not a native speaker so I really don't know this.

Does anybodoy know what it really means?

Re: What does " I'm gonna getcha good" actually mean?

The answer lies in the first two lines of the song: "Don't wantcha (= want you) for the weekend, don't wantcha for a night, I'm only interested if I can have you for life, yeah,"

So, "Oh, I'm gonna getcha, I'm gonna getcha real good" means something like "I am going to get you thoroughly" - "I am going to make certain that you become my love(r) for ever".

Re: What does " I'm gonna getcha good" actually mean?

5jj is right, and shows a possibly disturbing familarity with the context

But of the three proposed meanings:

...Some said it means " I know you well." Some said " I'll get you back" and some said I'll hurt you
only the first is plain wrong in any reasonable* context.

'I'm gonna getcha good', without the context of the song, sounds vengeful or aggressive. I'd say the writer was carried away by the alliteration.

PS* Some clever-clever hecklers will be tempted to point to the - not very common - idea of 'getting' someone, in the sense of understanding them. The idea of getting something is much more common. I've never met the collocation 'get someone good' in the sense of fully understanding them.
