Default Help me with some phrases from this song " I set fire to the rain"

I set fire to the rain
And I threw us into the flames
Where I felt somethin' die, 'cause I knew that
That was the last time, the last time

Sometimes I wake up by the door
Now that you've gone, must be waiting for you
Even now when it's already over
I can't help myself from looking for you
    .................................................. ..................................

I set fire to the rain. (Can she really set fire to the rain?)

And I threw us into the flames. ( Did she really trow him and herself into the flame or throw what?

Where I felt somethin' die, ( What dies?)

Sometimes I wake up by the door (Dose her bed is by the door?)

Please help me with these. I'm teaching my student to tranlate into my own language but I'm not sure.

Song lyrics frequently make little sense and are not good subjects for translation.
