[Grammar] "How would you like to pay for it?"

A : No, I do not want to pay for it.

A : I will pay by card.


I think that "How would you like to" has two different meanings. What do you think? And do you use it? Thank you so much as always and have a good day.

The only time you hear 'How would you like to pay for it?' is when you have already decided to buy something and the sales assistant asks you that question.

Some answers:

'In cash.'
'By credit/debit card.'
'By cheque.'
