- For Teachers
Hello, I teach elementary and middle school English and I have been asked to lead a conversation club for students in grades 4-8. The club meets on three different days so groups are similar in age. However even in one grade alone there is a wide variety of levels, ranging from pre-A1 to A2. Some students could even be considered B1. However this is my first year teaching and I am wondering if people here have any ideas of what I could do. Last week we discussed music. The sessions last for an hour and there are about 20 students in each group. For example, tomorrow I will lead a group that consists of 5th and 7th graders and there are students that are in a A1 movers class that are struggling as well as students who are at A2. Has anyone else done this before? Do you have any ideas of fun activities that work with fairly large groups of mixed ability that emphasize speaking?
