Women as/ although we are, we can raise up half the sky.

But I understand it. "Women, though we be, ..." might achieve the same effect.

Yes, except I don't like the comma after Women. One could also say "Women we may be, but..."

Yes, I think that you're right about the comma. And your version is easier to understand, but I like the "we be" without the "may" because I am nostalgic for the subjunctive case. Your version maintains the (Ah, I forget the technical term) unusual word order, though -- which is cool. I should look that term up. Verse uses it all the time to achieve rhyme.

Dear teachers , my English is so poor that I hope you should answer my question directly.
A Chinese scholar of English holds: We haven’t read such kind of sentence as Deal with us nobly, women as we be .i.e. (Complement + as + subject + v of subjunctive mood.) That is to say you should use though, but not although, instead of as. Please tell me whether the scholar is right and whether the sentence "Women as we are,we can raise up half the sky" is right.
