    Post Take Meaning

I look up the definitions of 'take' in this dictionary:

    -- learnersdictionary.com/search/take

But none seems to fit the usages in the two examples:

    bulk.resource.org/courts.gov/c/US/502/502.US.410.90-741.html
"Were this Court writing on a clean slate, it might be inclined to agree with Dewsnup that the quoted words must take the same meaning in 506(d) as in 506(a). "

    wikieducator.org/Assessing_and_Evaluating_for_Learning/Aligning_and_Designing_Assessment_module
"You may have a particular understanding of the terminology used but the students may not take the same meaning from those words"

Also, I feel that 'take' is used differently in the two examples.

In the first one "take" should be understood as (and would be better replaced by) "have".
In the second, the meaning is closer to "understand".

I see no point leaving this up here as it as a troll who's now banned, so I'm closing the thread.
Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
