As an English teacher, you should always use correct capitalisation and punctuation.

The letter should be your own work. If you make your effort and post it in the Letter Writing forum, somebody may have time to check it for you.

I don't know if your profile showed "English Teacher" when Rover replied to your thread, but it now shows "Retired Academic". If you're old enough to be retired, why have you needed to get a scholarship recently? Perhaps your member profile is still inaccurate?
