Hey, Which standard work of Grammar should I us and study for the next few years ? I have got a short list: 1. Longman Student Grammar of Spoken and written English, 2. Cambridge Grammar of English, 3. Grammar and Vocabulary for Cambridge Advanced and Proficiency. 4. Oxford Practice Grammar intermediate and advanced.

Thanks in advance.

Hey, I’ve started with an old schoolbook again in 2008, which was a very good starting point for basic English. Since then I went through that Oxford Practice course with answers, for beginner & intermediate level.

The explanation can be very different from one grammar book to another. So my question is : which one should be recommended.

A very user-friendly book is Practical English Usage. It's not set out like a traditional grammar, but it covers pretty well everything a student needs to know.
