The Donald’s Day is new feast which first time appear on 2001. If we want to retrace we must begin from a residential school in Warsaw, where to young men called Thomas and Adrian lived. It was a normal day, Adrian came back from school and he complained about: ‘How his life is boring’. The boy hit on an idea. He wrote a short message on Twitter and everything begun. The message contest a idea of parade through Warsaw’s street in costumes from comics, movies, cartoons etc. The idea really fast became popular, about 5000 people answered they would take part in it. The guys were shocked they never imagined that their idea gain really big currency. They called this parade Donald’s Day like the main character from cartoons, Donald Duck.
First parade starts on the first day of holiday in 2001, the range of the feast included only Warsaw, but through the twelve years the range included all Poland. Nowadays it is a tradition for students. Everyone wants to look like their famous star or creative their own fancy dress, so all costumes are one-off. The Donald’s Day goes ahead every year on the first day of holidays at midday. After parade participants go to the McDonald and eat hamburgers, drink cola and spend together great time. Last year participate about 62 000 people in 16 polish cities. Next year from the first time the feast will be in few Ukrainian cities like Lviv and in Lithuania in Kaunas.
