    Default on the phone or over the phone

    Dear Teacher,

    Some pepole say He called me on the phone/on the mobile while other people say He called me over the phone/ over the mobile which one is correct?

    The correct answer is: He talked to me on the phone. We can also say: He talked to me by phone.

    We can use 'over the phone' when we are thinking about the phone the means of communication when there are other possibilities:
    They gave me an interview over the phone.
    You can interview someone in a number o ways- phone, face-to-face, etc.
