    I'm sure he only does it to annoy me!
    She means that many relationships between husbands and wives are typically represented as antagonistic and that she expects that situation as normal in her relationship. But when she observes her husband as patient, sensitive and understanding, she perceives his behavior as abnormal and a way to bother or annoy her.
