Default The store opens(opened) at 10a.m except on Mondays

This is a grammar practice for figuring out the present tense or past tense. The answer is only "opens", but wouldn't "opened" be also possible when referring to past situation?

gz14)The store opens(opened) at 10a.m except on Mondays.
