    Default Reading

I am in the second year of my teaching career. I teach 6th grade Language Arts. I am upset at the number of students who struggle with reading and writing. What are some important things to remember when teaching children who either don't like to read, don't know how to read or don't understand what they are reading?

I desperately want to improve my skills in this area.

    Thank you

I have some poems I wrote especially for kids. I think they can be a big help in getting kids motivated to want to read and write. The kids enjoyed the poems a great deal. They liked reading them and the peoms even stimulated them to want to write.

Send me a PM (private message). I'll send you a poem or two or three. (One of their faves is Fred the Cat, but they truly like them all.)

    :)
