    you'd be arguing

    Do all these "would" refer to a past habitual action? "at a party" seems to make it a single event, but I think I don't have to stick to such a concept.

    gu148)Information has changed. In the past, facts were debated; today, they are easily available. For example, at a party years ago, you'd be arguing about whether leopards live in Asia or not. Everyone would have an opinon and the discussion would go on and on....

    A genus of similar events. (My use of 'genus' isn't a common one; but it's where the word 'general' comes from - which is what brought it to mind.)

    Okay, "a party" seems like the generalization of "parties", which can make it possible to apply "habitual actions" to it.
