Which answer is better:
My favourite food is pizza.
or
Pizza is my favourite food.

Is it correct to list several things after "My favourite food is"?
My favourite food is pizza, spaghetti, fried chicken.

What about countable nouns? Should I use the plural?
My favourite food is potatoes, carrots, tomatoes.

When I'm asked "What's you favourite book?" is it gramatically correct to say:
My favourite book is X, Y, Z and D.
or should I say:
My favourite books are X,Y,Z and D.

You could also say 'My favourite food is potato'.

Hi HanibalII,

Potato is a countable noun. Why do we use it in singular form?

Potato is a countable noun. Why do we use it in singular form?
We don't normally. However, it's possible if we are thinking of, for example mashed potato.
