    Default bad-mouth

    Hi,
What is the meaning of 'Far be it from me to bad-mouth...' in the following context taken from a text book?

"I think love at first sight is chemistry with potential. Far it be from me to bad-mouth, either, but it's not love."

If you bad mouth something, you criticise it.

So, 'far be it from me to bad-mouth' means ' I don't want to criticize but..' .
    Correct?

Yes- in English, we often say that we don't want to do something negative then do it. It seems less direct and confrontational:
I don't want to complain, but...
    etc
