:-x Mr Tdol,
Sir, I am totally and absolutely confused bewildered and angry as to why linguists analyze others posts. I fanatically edit every word, literally so the reader will not interpret my posts. I cannot understand why linguists read between the lines, are assume the writer meant this or that. I write from experience, again literally every word period jot and tittle. It's almost a slap in my face, when people do this. How did people write before their were linguists? pljames :-x

Interpretation is a necessary part of communication, there is no way around that. People who think they can choose their words carefully and thereby communicate one and only one meaning, are naive about how communication works.

I'm not saying you're incorrect, of course. I haven't noticed any of the threads that troubled you, though I am a regular reader. It may be that one or more persons over-interpreted, or misinterpreted, your written words. If that's that's the case, I empathize with your frustration.
