    Default go the bathroom

Could you keep an eye on my luggage while I go the bathroom? (page 503, Longman Advanced American Dictionary)

Is go the bathroom a typo?

As an NES (BrE) but not an English teacher:

I would normally say: "... go to the bathroom...."

I am always amused when Americans go to the 'bathroom', but I suppose the British 'loo' is no better.

Actually, picking up on 5jj's comment, I might even say, jokingly: "I'm going toodaloo!" and point towards the toilets.

(NB: "Toodaloo" normally means "goodbye for now").
