simple past in passive vs stative passive

    Hi,

Supposing the situation of door is closed right now consider the following sentences..

    1) The door is closed.

    2) The door is closed by pinky.

    3) The door was closed by pinky.

I know the first one is correct since it tells the prestent situation of the door which is closed.

But when i want to tell like who closed the door which one i have to choose and why?

Is there any way to know when to use the stative voice or simple past in passive for completed activities whose effect is still seen in the present?

    Krishna.

Use 3- 2 suggest that this is something Pinky does repeatedly- maybe as a job.

Do you mean to say that for stative sentences by phrase can't be added?

If you say 'the door is closed by Pinky', then this is a verb not an adjective, and therefore refers to a present tense action.
