I'd like to ask you about the word 'pH' (=potential of hydrogen).
'p' is usually written in a small letter, and 'H' in a capital letter.
How should I write when I need to use 'pH' at the beginning of a sentence?
Should 'p' be written in a capital letter???
How about these sentences? pH is a logarithmic measure of hydrogen ion concentration. pH is often used to compare solution acidities.
I found these in the following website. http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/se...at-is-pH.shtml
Is it OK to use a small letter at the beginning of a sentence in these cases?
I hope so, because if you write it like 'PH', it will be difficult for readers to understand it means 'pH'.
Or, do you still need 'the' or 'a' before 'pH'?
