    Default pH

I'd like to ask you about the word 'pH' (=potential of hydrogen).
'p' is usually written in a small letter, and 'H' in a capital letter.
How should I write when I need to use 'pH' at the beginning of a sentence?
Should 'p' be written in a capital letter???

I can't find any examples of it. It normally has an article before it.

    Thank you!
    How about these sentences?
pH is a logarithmic measure of hydrogen ion concentration.
pH is often used to compare solution acidities.
I found these in the following website.
    http://antoine.frostburg.edu/chem/se...at-is-pH.shtml
Is it OK to use a small letter at the beginning of a sentence in these cases?
I hope so, because if you write it like 'PH', it will be difficult for readers to understand it means 'pH'.
Or, do you still need 'the' or 'a' before 'pH'?

In those case I think it would be clearer with a small letter- where the rule makes things harder for the reader, then the rule needs to adapt. Grammar should help not hinder.
