Default when they were his employees

    Are these sentences correct:

1-He claims that he never dated any of his employees but says he might have dated certain of his ex-employees.

2-He claims that he never dated any of his employees when they were his employees but says he might have dated women who had been his employees.
3-He claims that he never dated any of his employees when they were his employees but might have dated his ex-employees.

4-He claims that he never dated anyone who was working for him but might have dated women who had worked for him.

They are all supposed to have the same meaning. The idea is pretty simple, but I am not sure which of the above sentences work.

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

1 is perfectly clear. Why add unnecessary words?

2 and 4 do not mean the same as you have specified 'women'. He might have dated men.
