Default to send or in sending

Would somebody please comment on my English?

I am planning to send (in sending?) some articles related my field of research study to your newspaper. If it is ok with you, would you mind telling me some information such as how many words should I write, format, how long it will take for the approval and publishing?

    Regards,

    Dean
