I am trying to diagram some sentences from a story I am reading to improve my understanding of grammar. I am confused about how to diagram dialogue, however, and cannot find anything helpful in any books or online. The sentence I am particularly working on is this:

He thus addressed him: "Sirrah, last year you grossly insulted me."

I am pretty clear on how to diagram each of the two parts of this sentence separately--I am just not sure where the dialogue should go in relation to the rest. I've diagramed dialogue before as a direct object (dependent noun clause), but that doesn't seem to work here, as I believe "him" is the direct object.

Also, how should I approach diagramming interrupted dialogue? Do I have to show somehow that it is interrupted?

Thank you so much for your help!
