Dear All,

I was just wondering if there is a free software available which can help teachers generate their own tests, data bank of questions, etc.

Thanks in advance

I used to use puzzlemaker.com - dunno if it's still around.

Theres also a free dowload you can get from Question Tools: Automated Assessment (or you could 5 years ago ;-)). The good thing about this is that once you've got it you aren't dependent on an Internet connection.

Incidentally, 'software' isn't countable. What you're looking for is a* tool/package/product.... But this error is so widely made that for all I know there may be some national variants that regard it as acceptable.

I've just found this in my bookmarks. I've never used it, and it looks both useful and limited. You paste your text into it and it makes words into spaces.

Oxford University press provides a similar cloze maker. It's also rather limited but free and interactive/copy/print options are available.

If you are using it for your website (and using Wordpress) then Quizzin is a good plugin. There are some newer plugins too and can be found using the search in Wordpress.
