pinch the bridge of sb's nose

    Could you help me?

She laughed, the sound nearly breaking on a sob. She pinched the bridge of her nose. "God, I was not going to do this. Not today."

What is the meaning of bold phrase? Thank you.

Re: pinch the bridge of sb's nose

The top of your nose, just before it meets your face/forehead, is the bridge. If you press on both sides of it with your fingers you can feel that it is a pressure point. Sometimes people press there to try to stop themselves from crying. I pinch the bridge of my nose sometimes to get brief relief from a bad headache.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
