Did I receive tax exemption from/for my tuition fee last year?

    1) Did I receive tax exemption from/for my tuition fee last year? (for or from?).
    2) I am eligible for tuition fees refund, instead of paying the taxes with money, it can be paid by deducting from the tuition fee refund.

I hope somebody can tell me if the above sentences are constructed correctly.

I hope somebody can tell me if the above sentences are constructed correctly.
    1. Were my tuition fees tax-exempt last year?
    2. I am eligible for a refund on my tuition fees. Instead of paying the tax separately, the tax can be deducted from my refund.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
