Default I have been trying you all afternoon.

In Gossip Girl, American TV series, Nate has ignored the phone call of Sage's, who is his girlfriend. Finally He picked up the call.
    .
Sage said, "Finally, I have been trying you all afternoon".

Do native speakers say I have been trying to call you?

If I have been looking around for Tom, once I find him, may I say, "Finallly, I have been trying you all morning". Or should I say, "I have been trying to find you" ?

    Thank you!

Do you mean "Finally! I have been trying you all morning"? You can only say that if you've trying to call Tom on the phone or paging him. It doesn't work for looking for someone. 'You' means 'your number' here.
