    Question Roll on truck"

    Hi,
    Can you explain to me what is the "Roll on truck" ? the context is as follows:
    Z will purchase additional compactor trucks and chain loaders/roll on trucks as needed to support the solid waste operations.

    More context would be needed, but I imagine it is a truck that you can simply roll things (waste?) onto.

    Do you mean that it is a truck that collects waste? more context wouldn't help since the term is mentioned once.

    My best guess is that it is a truck which you can roll things onto.

    There is a term 'roll on - roll off' often written as RORO. It is normally applied to freight containers, which can be rolled off the back of a lorry and onto a ship for onward transportation...so I would assume that in this instance it is being used to describe a type of vehicle which is capable of rolling off a container and rolling on another. Perhaps a full container being uplifted and replaced by an empty container, or vice versa.
