I can't pick up the words in 0:07-0:08 in the following link (sound like interflow) and 0:22-0:23 (sound like ostier)? Please advise.

    (Not a Teacher)

    1) Not sure what he's saying either. I doesn't sound like anything that makes sense in that sentence. "They are as (?) my winter garb as my (not sure what this is) and my scarf."

    2) "Austere"

Dear Vic, thanks for your comment. The theme of the VO is about the "gloves" the person in the video bought (according to the Chinese subtitle). Not sure if this information can help. BTW, I am interested to know what kind of accent is the VO?

    Regards

    Anthony

Thanks Vic and 5JJ, I tried to typeset the voice over to make English subtitles (below link, click on the sixth icon from right in the bottom right hand corner to get the subtitle). I am afraid some of them are incorrect, can you help me to spot the mistakes? Thanks very much.

That's what I have thought sometimes when others have picked out 'obvious' words that I haven't been able to hear after ten attempts.

There is a lot of educated southern British about it. Although his spoken English is very good indeed, there are signs that he is not a native speaker. I think I would have identified him as coming from China, but it's difficult to say for certain. I should have closed my eyes to listen to the clip.
