    developed or was developing

Their friendship _____ quickly over the weeks that followed.
    A. developed B. was developing

I chose B, as I thought it was meant to show a certain period of time.

    Does it make sense?

What's your opinion? Are they both right?

    Thanks!

    Jason

    Re: developed or was developing

In that example, I would use a). If there were more context, b) could work, but without context, it sounds strange to me.
