    mean? "staple food"?

    Snacks are an essential part of their diet because they supply the energy teens need between meals.
    ...
    Providing a steady supply of glucose to the brain prevents you from having mood swings and getting cranky.
    Make healthy snacking part of your everyday routine.
    Prepare healthy snacks in advance and take it with you.
    Make things interesting by preparing something different every day.
    However, this doesn't mean you have to give up on junk food altogether.
    Just regulate the amount you eat.
    After all, they should be considered treats, not daily dietary staples.
