    dangling modifiers

According to my grammar books, if an infinitive phrase comes at the head of a sentence, it must refer to the subject of the sentence. If not, it is a dangling infinitive phrase. For example,

    1. Dangling: To learn to speak English well, constanct practice is necessary.
    2. Improved: To learn to speak English well, you need constant practice.

My question is, is it correct for me to say "To learn to speak English well, it is necessary for you to practice constantly" ? I think this is a good sentence too, but I am not very sure. Thank you very much.

    Re: dangling modifiers

Your grammar book is needlessly pedantic on this point. The following are all acceptable in my opinion.

    1. Constant practice is needed to learn to speak English well.
    2. You need constant practice to learn to speak English well.
    3. It is necessary for you to practice constantly to learn to speak English well.

Moving the infinitive phrase to the beginning of the sentence makes no difference.
