Hello everyone,

I am asking about if it's "was to write/was write/was writing"? and why, please? because I don't get it at all. And if it needs studying in order to figure it out very well, please tell me the rule's name or a site I can study from.

All I had to do was to write a letter/ was write a letter/ was writing a letter.

Thanks in advance.

First off, sorry about the typo. Why did you opt for the first two ones?

Where's the underlined, though?

In red are the words which were clearly underlined in 5jj's post.

You did all that without the strikeout button? I'm missing it. (I know you can code it manually)

You have to GO ADVANCED. I am trying to train myself to do it before I start writing a response. The advantage is that you get a fuller selection of buttons; the disadvantage is that you lose sight of all the other posts in the thread.

If I know I'm going to need to use the strikethrough quite a lot (ie in Editing and Writing Topics), I hit Go Advanced straight away. If I'm only going to need it four or five times, I code it manually. It would be great to get that one button back in the non-advanced toolbar.

I've just bumped the thread about it in the Support Area. Red 5 may be able to help.
